 Chapter 15.04. Building Permit Fees

§ 15.04.010. Established—Work started prior to obtaining permit

  • Effective June 1, 2009, where work for which a permit is required by this code is started or proceeded with, prior to obtaining such permit, the fee specified shall be tripled but payment of such triple fee shall not relieve any person from fully complying with the requirements of this code in the execution of the work nor from any other penalties prescribed in this code.

    Building Fees
     

    Description   Fee
    1. All new construction, repairs or alterations $15.00 per $1,000.00 or fraction thereof of
    construction cost, $50.00 minimum fee.
    2. Amendments to plans $15.00 per $1,000.00 or fraction thereof of
    construction cost, $50.00 minimum fee.
    3. Demolition of buildings and structures $15.00 per $1,000.00 or fraction thereof of
    construction cost, $50.00 minimum fee.
    4. Preliminary permits for foundations $15.00 per $1,000.00 or fraction thereof of
    construction cost, $50.00 minimum fee.
    5. All new signs $10.00 per $100.00 or fraction thereof of the sign cost, $50.00 minimum fee.
    6. Certificate of occupancy:
      a. Place of assembly $100.00
      b. Residential $100.00 and $5.00 each unit over five
      c. Other $100.00
      d.  Request for inspection of dwelling unit as per section 119.3 of the State Building Code $100.00
      e. Reinspection of code violations $25.00
    7. Periodic inspections and certifications:
      a.  Places of assembly per table 108 of the State Building Code—Use groups A-1, A-2, A-3, A-4, E and I-2 Minimum fee of $50.00 for less than 50 seats, $2.00 additional for each seat over 50.
      b.  Places of assembly—Use group R-1 (Residential) table 108 $50.00, $5.00 per room additional over 10 rooms
      c.  Places of assembly—Use groups R-3, R-4 and R-5 $50.00
      d.  Fire escapes testing and other certification as per section 805.3 of the State Building Code $100.00
    8. Annual inspection of signs $10.00
    9. Reinspection of code violations $25.00
    10. Moving buildings $15.00 per $1,000.00 or fraction thereof of
    construction cost, $50.00 minimum fee.
    11. Builders license:
      a. Initial $30.00
      b. One year renewal $20.00
      c. Beyond one year plus 30 days $25.00
      d. Special license $5.00
